Can you compress the highs, lows, thrills, suspense, and surprises of an entire year of VALORANT into a single trailer?
The idea was to treat V25 like a feature film. One trailer that hints at the narrative arc, the product updates, the new Agents, and of course the premium content. Every easter egg was hidden in plain sight, waiting for the community to notice them as the season unfolded. By the end of the year, they realized we had told them everything at the start. Countless narrative teases, 9 premium content pieces, 4 new characters, 3 VCT tournament locations, and one new map.
The story reached it’s finale during the first 6 minutes of the VALORANT Champions Opening Ceremony in Paris. What started as a trailer, ended in a reality blurring musical performance on our biggest stage.
This whole year of work required more than just my creative direction skills. I needed to work hand in hand with the dev team to visualize the year without most of the year’s work being finalized. I had to align publishing, narrative, core product, as well as premium content.
